Affinity Designer Apple Apps Icon Template
Years ago, I was an early adopter for Serif’s Affinity Photo|Designer|Publisher suite when I was looking for a non-subscription alternative to Adobe. At first, Affinity Photo seemed really difficult – but then I realized I had to unlearn all the legacy mental models Photoshop embedded in my brain – much of it was left over from the 80s/90s.
If you use Affinity (recently acquired by Canva – we’ll see how THAT goes) and you need to make assets for iOS/tvOS – here is a template (current as of the date of this post) that will help you create icons and app screens.
For the Icons, it is easy peasy!
- You will see a “Design Area” art board – these are the three icon symbols.
- Simply replace (or, plop on top of) your app icon in these symbols and they will “auto-magically” appear in the right size as they propagate through the document.
- Then go to the “export” persona and … well, export.
All the sizes and naming conventions are done for you!
If you see a bug let me know. If there are alot – I’ll put this on Github so we can nurture it.
You rawk, btw!
